Cheer up

Perhaps this will help you get through this cold and windy Monday (in New York at least).

Daylight Savings Time begins on Sunday, March 8th - sunset will be at 6:57pm that day on the East Coast. Sure you "lose" out on an hour of sleep, but it's light out when you get out of work, so please shut up and enjoy the sun.

In what is perhaps the greatest legislative legacy of George W. Bush's presidency, The Uniform Time Act of 1966 was amended in 2005 to extend Daylight Savings Time by several weeks. So if we just overlook the crippling war, economic cataclysm and loss of American international goodwill, I think the past 8 years have been relatively successful.
