During a recent visit to the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, I was delightfully surprised to stumble into a small exhibition on Otl Aicher's design work from the 1972 Munich Olympics. Aicher created some of the finest poster art I've ever seen, but his real genius is highlighted by the spectacular pictograms he created for each event.
